bdj 0 Posted October 14, 2007 I just bought a Inon 165 AD lense and an Ikelite lense port adaptor for my Fuji E900. I have never used any of these lenses before, so I am probably doing something wrong. I can not get the lense to lock on to the adaptor. When I put it on the adaptor, I turn it until it stops but it will not lock on to it like it does to the lense cover or the lens caddy. I don't know if it takes a lot more force to lock it on to the adaptor, or if I am doing something wrong, or if I need another type of adaptor. The adaptor I have is the UWL-105AD. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks

But it should be fine anyway - mine was tight enough not to get loose.
seagrant 4 Posted October 16, 2007 (edited) Actually the Ike AD adapters are supposed to lock the AD lenses in place - or at least have a metal stop to "lock" it. If yours is missing a metal stop (to stop the lens from coming back out while turning) you should send it back. Ike got mine fixed personally when he was still around. Those are very secure when they have the metal stop and not as secure if they turn right out of the AD seat. I used both the 165ads (stacked) and the 105ad on many, many dives before I got my DSLR. They are very handy and great lenses for the money. Best, Carol PS in rereading this I see you said you have a metal stop but I wonder if it is positioned correctly? Your AD lenses should "lock" in just like you say they do in the holders and with the lens rear cap - it should not be any different........., at least mine weren't. I suspect your metal stop is not positioned correctly or something else is off or out of alignment. My lenses were very, very secure in the Ike AD adapter - almost too hard to unscrew and remove. Patarero 0 Posted October 23, 2007 bdj-I have the inon uwl105ad with the ike lens mount. I had the same problem you are having. I couldn't get the lens to lock into the mount. I then noticed the smallest of burs on the leading edge on one of the rails. I trimmed this off and the problem was solved. -j
