I often have run-ins on one British site (the British diving trade love it and I now have a sub-following of fans who ask me when I'm going to wind them up again). The strange thing is that I meet a lot of divers and often spend time cramped together with them on liveaboards. I've never met any of my antagonists, only fans of my wind-ups. Is it because the really angry people are angry because they never get to go diving? Forums area good place to imbibe information (eg: thanks Alex for making me buy the Tokina 10-17 when it first arrived) but none of us should take what we read or ourselves too seriously...and who is this echeng anyway? Had to cancel a trip recently .and who is this echeng anyway? Is he some kind of e-person?
