gobiodon 63 Posted January 31, 2008 Sony announced two cameras (a300/350) today with a brand new liveview mode: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0801/08013004...alpha300350.asp http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/AA350/AA350A.HTM After reading the specifications, I think it's the best implementation of LV so far. Maybe even useful underwater. And if you doubt the availability of high quality lenses for the sony system there is an announcment of some new lenses: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0801/08013002...00zeiss2470.asp The Zeiss Vario Sonnar T* 24-70mm f/2.8 ZA might be an option for UW, but it will be more usefull with the upcoming fullframe model (a900?) riccati 0 Posted February 4, 2008 I agree, I think these would make great underwater cameras. Almost the "best of both worlds" of slr and compact. I'd love to see a super-compact housing like the Seatool Rebel Xti housing, but without a viewfinder eyepiece (could make it cheaper), just use live view all the time. The live view system looks fantastic, with proper slr autofocus.
