Ed_Dman 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Just wanted to share some of the shots, I took in Anilao! Ed.
ce4jesus 1 Posted February 9, 2008 Ed, Those are simply fantastic. What equipment did you use?
Steve Williams 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Edvin, Very impressive web site! Hard to believe you've only been diving since 2002. You are doing a fantastic job with your G-9. Can you give us a hint of the species we're looking at in the first 2 images? Steve
TheRealDrew 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Beautiful shots. I guess Steven spotted G-9 as your camera somewhere. I tell people that you can get great shots with a non-dSLR, but I guess you know that already
Ed_Dman 0 Posted February 9, 2008 (edited) Thanks for all the kind words, Ce4Jesus, Steve & Drew! Yup! Those are all taken with the G9. Steve - Those are Ornate & Harlequin Ghost Pipefish. Ed. Edited February 9, 2008 by Ed_Dman
mandarinfish 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Really wonderful. Love seeing the eyes in the eggs through the transparent abstract pattern of the pouch, e.g. the third shot. Wow! Linda
MikeVeitch 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Anilao again Ed? Seems you live there now.. Good stuff
ornate_wrasse 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Those shots are totally awesome! I'm ~very~ impressed with the capabilities of the camera you're using. Maybe I should purchase a G9 as a backup camera instead of another DSLR! Can you share with us the details of any post-processing you may have used? The colors just seem to pop up from the page. And the focus is sharp as a tack. Simply amazing!
mrbubbles 0 Posted February 9, 2008 absolutely amazing. If its uncropped, double amazing
Ed_Dman 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. Mike V - I'm in the middle of getting my citizenship there. When are you going back there, would love to dive with ya, someday. Ornate - As a back-up is good, but I don't think it can compare with the quality, a Dslr can produced. I'm not a PS guru, I did pretty much what I learn from the internet. Mr.Bubbles - All are un-cropped, except the 1st shot. The rest are full frame, took them with lenses. Ed. bartusderidder 0 Posted February 9, 2008 The rest are full frame, took them with lenses. Hi Ed, Superb shots !!! Very well done! May I ask which lenses and how did you get so close to some of these critters? Regards, Bart
Ed_Dman 0 Posted February 10, 2008 Hi Ed, Superb shots !!! Very well done! May I ask which lenses and how did you get so close to some of these critters? Regards, Bart Hi Bart! Thanks for the kind compliment. I used the stacked Inon UCL165AD Close-up lenses. To get those shots, I was moving really slow and had to spent some time waiting for those lil fellas to get used to me. Not wanting to scare or provoke them! Ed. JackConnick 76 Posted February 11, 2008 Great work. Nice composition and colors! I have shot the stacked Inons and know how frustrating and hard to catch focus it can be. Jack
