bmyates 3 Posted June 9, 2008 If I didn't already have 3 of them, I'd buy one from you in a second! I've been using Porter Cases for over 10 years, and LOVE them! FWIW to potential buyers, I think this is the single best piece of luggage ever invented! I load both of my checked bags plus my other carry-on, i.e., all my dive AND photo gear, and can pull it all around with one hand! Never have to look for luggage carts or porters. Also, the "plain" version you are selling, without a bunch of inserts that take up space, is perfect for packing camera gear (assuming you, like me, have a bunch of padding from other camera bags you can use to customize the inside of it). BTW, Roger is NOT paying me for this endorsement.
underwatercolours 0 Posted June 10, 2008 Ditto on what Bruce said. I go nowhere without my Porter Case and wouldn't trade it for anything. Roger's not paying me either.

If it's in LA, I can pick it up. Thanks, Joe
Drew 0 Posted June 12, 2008 FYI, the Porter Case II does not fit in the Size Wise box at airports. http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7940

bmyates 3 Posted June 12, 2008 FYI, the Porter Case II does not fit in the Size Wise box at airports.http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7940 Good point. For that reason, I always carry a fist-sized fold-into-itself nylon bag. In the rare case where they won't let you take the Porter Case on a plane (note: that will ALWAYS be the case with Qantas in Cairns/Brisbane), you can simply unfold your nylon bag, put your laptop and other valuable stuff in the bag, and gate-check the (nearly) empty Porter Case. I guess if I traveled a lot in Oz (on Qantas), I wouldn't use this case, but nearly everywhere else in the world, I have had NO problems with them.
RogerC 4 Posted June 15, 2008 New one's been sold. I'm contacting other potential buyers in chronological order (some were by PM, some by posts here). Thanks.
RogerC 4 Posted June 30, 2008 I still have the used one for sale. Please contact me with a PM if you're interested. I've been telling people one by one why I'm selling them, and rather than keep that up, i'll just post it here. Despite the great things others have said about them, my luck has not been so good. On the first trip we took these on, one lost its wheels and axle when we had to check it at heathrow. The company sent us replacement parts, free, no problem, after we got home. On the second trip, one case's handle could not handle the trial of going through a carryon xray machine. It got a little bump, and that was that, it would not lock up or down, it just flopped around. It came off. This time the company replaced the whole case. That's how I got the new one. They never left the house again; I won't get fooled again. I'm not sure which one had the axle problem, the used one I still have or the used one that got returned. I'm not sure it matters. The axle is as good as the original one. The damage was always caused by handlers and machines, not me. Despite my bad luck with these, others have had great luck and love them. I'm selling this for about half the original price, I'll take $175 for it.
