JERA 0 Posted July 15, 2008 Hi Is there anyone there knows what port and zoom gears there have to be used for the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 DC Macro HSM lens on the Sea & Sea DX-D80 housing. markprior 0 Posted July 15, 2008 I just bought this lens and actually tried it out in the pool last night. The performance with the compact dome port is I would say very acceptable with the SX and 40mm extensions together. I haven't tried any other combinations but I was happy with the results. I haven't got a zoom gear but I made one instead. It isn't perfect but it works. I basically used some padding and then wrapped heavy duty velcro round the padding. This provides purchase for the teeth of the zoom control to rotate the lens. It was also a lot cheaper than buying a zoom gear. Hope that helps, Mark Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I want to use this lens but I can’t find the port and zoom gear for the lens. There are a few that work, Ryan at H20 has one, others are available but, really don't fit like you might expect. I use duct tape and rubber bands to make the gear fit. Used the set up last weekend and gears worked fine. If you have trouble finding a gear pm me I'll dig out what I used.
