diverdon 1 Posted October 31, 2008 Preparing for my upcoming trip I had a four year old ttl converted DS-125 where the strobe was intermittent last trip. I also had a newer Ikelite DS-125 while packing for the trip 3 weeks in advance I accidentally broke the battery compartment locking dogs this flash was over two years old. I packed them up with a letter with my credit card on it and a plea not to hurt me any more than necessary. Got them both back with completed repairs today. Total bill: No Charge I thought that was pretty nice of them.

Morten 0 Posted November 3, 2008 G'day Kirk, How do you like your DS-125 strobes? I am looking to by a good value strobe to go with my D300 Ikelite housing. Regards, Morten www.trueview.com.au
diverdon 1 Posted November 5, 2008 And now the rest of the story. Today an invoice for $100.00 came in the mail. Not a complaint, but the service is no longer worth a delighted post.
diverdon 1 Posted December 10, 2008 And now the rest of the rest of the story, --- Here I am in the Philippines 50 dives into a 200 dive trip. The repaired Ikelite DS-125 has been handled very gently, I have recharged it about 20 times. This morning the locking lugs they repaired less than 60 days ago just snapped off when I was reinstalling the battery. Thanks a lot Ikelite.
diverdon 1 Posted December 12, 2008 I emailed Ikelite about this and they offered to send replacement parts here to me in the Philippines. I guess thats pretty good service after all.
Scubamoose 0 Posted December 12, 2008 Hi As it seems Ikelite is willing to reapair or replace the malfunctioning equipment quite happly - wich is offcourse a good thing. But the question is, is it woth the trouble for the customer...?! At the moment I don't have the finance neither the time to make multiple dive trips per year, so when the light's "die" on my only dive trip in a year, it's really a sad thing. A replacement sent to me by the end of my trip, does not quite compensate the dive's done without strobes. I'm looking the market to purchase a strobe for my Ikelite housing and had my eye on DS-160 (since it provides TTL possibility), nut now I'm starting do doupt my choise... Is TTL possibility really a "must be" for a begginner UW photograper? Any suggestions? Cheers, Scubamoose
