graffa 0 Posted November 28, 2008 I have the ys 110 and am having terrible problems with the sync converters have heard that this is a common problem with the ys110 and therefore they have come out with the ys 110a. I am looking to upgrade to the YS250 and was wondering if anyone knew if the YS 250 had the same problems as the original YS 110. Thank you for any help that you can provide Graffa
Steve Williams 0 Posted November 28, 2008 Hi Graffa, I have not heard on any issues discussed here on Wetpixel. I'm using two YS250's with the new converter and have had no problems. In fairness I'd have to qualify that by saying I've only used the strobes with the converter on 10 or so dives. Most of the time I've been working on W/A and go manual. It is an entirely different strobe and a different converter so it wouldn't surprise me if S&S fixed the problem. Hopefully some other 250 shooters will jump in. Just for the record, I love the 250. The recycle time is amazing, it's a entirely different animal than the 110. Good luck, Steve
davichin 18 Posted November 28, 2008 I have two 250s and iTTL converter (be sure to get the specific for the 250) works very well with one or two strobes connected. Even if you have two strobes connected and turn one off, the exposure with the other one will be consistent.
sgietler 1 Posted November 28, 2008 I have ys-110's, and the exposures are good with the TTL-III converter for a Nikon d80, d200, d300. several friends of mine use this combo also with no exposure issues. which problem are you referring to exactly? with sync cords, or with the ttl-converter? exposure or flooding? scott

I have had issues where the flash works intermitently and sometimes only one when two are connected. I have checked the cables and they are transmitting correctly seems to be an issue at the flash end.
