South of Red Sea

Recommended Posts

This past October I had the opportunity to dive in Egypt, but this time I want it to explore the south side. The trip itinerary included diving in Saint Johns, Dolphin Reef and Elphistone.

Saint John was great, there are not as many dive boats compare to the North of Egypt but I was expecting to see more fish. Dolphin Reef and Elphistone were amazing, lots of dolphins and the highlight of the trip was the very close encounters he had with the oceanic white tip sharks.

This is one of my favorite images from the trip.

Thanks David, looks like great diving. I really like the mood of the lionfish shot.

Great wide angle shots!

I particularly like the wreck photo and the last one with a loggerhead turtle?

Those are all super shots. I like the wreck and that curious Oceanic best.

Thanks for the Comments,

Where did you stay?

The trip was on the Sea Light live aboard.

The cave photo was taken on St.Johns area but I don't remember the name of the dive site.

Thanks

Thank's for the info David!

Unfortunally the site is usually visited by liveaboard's and getting there with daytrip from shore could be tricky

Cheers,

I,ve been there in feb08 and the scenery is something hard to forget. Shaab Claudio reef is one of the most known dives in the Fury shoals reef system. Can be reached by dayboats, but only from the southernmost diving operators in Port Hamata region.
