Interesting, they must crawl the web like Google then looking at all the files on a web page for it to work on the net.

My question is, to view a image it must download it and then scan it, ie looking at a picture on a web page is the same as downloading it, that means they have to go through billions of pages which are constantly changing.

 

I wonder how it goes if the picture is embed into a flash, pdf, video or word file etc? It would had to download, open and then scan every single file on the internet.

The service they offer right now seems to monitor 5,000 print outlets and only 100 websites, but you could imagine marrying the concept with Google-like spiders as you envisage ... a monumental task ... but the idea of Google itself was almost as un-imaginable at one point not that long ago ... (recalls the guy who remembers having to go see the bank teller for cash.)

 

Lots of processing if you wanted to look at every website ... but if all you cared about was the most heavily visited sites, it wouldn't be too bad.
