I have used it.

My setup is:

D300 + Sea&Sea's MDX-D300

ER40 + Sea&Sea Optical Dome Port (glass).

No diopter needed.

Sea&Sea recommends the SX Extension Ring... I have it, but found the lens performing better (specially corners) with the ER40 which is a 40mm extension ring.

My Optical Dome Port is the equivalent to the Compact Dome Port (the small one in acrylic).

Good luck

That will depend on your dome size and extension.

With the nikon d200 in Seacam with Superdome (edit) and 35mm extension (edit) I don't use a dioptre.

I use it in a Hugyfot D200 housing with the Hugyfot FE domeport. They reccomend the smallest extension. I tried it without extension and found that set-up to be sharp across the image as well. No dioptre. Speculation from my side: I think this lens may have some more barrel distortion than the other wide rectiliner zoom lenses, hence it works a little bit better behind a dome port.

cheers

And I should have said that I am very happy with the results.

I tested the Sigma 10-20 with the Olympus 6'' and Inon 6" Domeport. A diopter is not needed.

But with this Domes the lens performed bad. The center ist good, but the corners aren't sharp.

Have anyone expierence with the Ikelite 8" Domeport and the Sigma 10-20?

I use this with Ikelite 8" and the #5510.58 4cm extension and find optically it works okay (but not done any fancy sharpness testing).

However the lens has a very big barrel so is a very tight squeeze and I had to modifiy the clamping arangement.

I just added a pool pic with it on my site (at the signature below) on the News page, it performs really nice in my S&S setup.

BTW: No diopter.
