A couple shots in Scuba Diving Mag

Recommended Posts

While not even in the same league as Rand's win, two of my shots from Truk (Chuuk, whatever) were purchased for the May Scuba Diving magazine.

This is a national publication, so I'm quite pleased, as this is a first for me.

See page #47, photos are of sake bottles (it's always the mundane shots that people buy). What's interesting is that they were shot with my old Fuji e900 and an Inon W/A lens, right before I switched to a DSLR.

Magazine has a sort of a white cover with a B&W shot of a GQ guy looking very cool with his hair all combed coming out of the surf. (Gees, where's the snot dripping from his nose? I never look this good after diving...)

Wow, thanks guys, coming from my peers here, your words mean a lot...

Hmm, now if they'll just buy from my selection from Bonaire...

Well done Jack.

I think that is the issue I have a shot of the Naia in also. I know I have a Giant Pacific Octopus shot in the current Sport Diver on the last page so, it must be in the Scuba Diving issue. I have not seen the magazine yet here though.

Cheers

Just took a look. Great shots Jack. The color and exposure on those is great. And I liked the framing of the rack of bottles. Good job. Congratulations.

Thanks again.

Shooting in those wrecks is challenging due to silt in the water wanting to act as a diffuser. Most had to be cropped in as these were. Of course you're at 125' inside a hold and the ol' time meter is running very quickly indeed...

Diving on the Rio de Janero Maru has got to be some of the best bunches of dives I've done though. It's just simply HUGE at (I think) 450' or so.

Congrats, Jack,

This new issue was good to a lot of us; full page of a Port Hardy wolfie for me. If you think your old set up is a surprise, mine involved something called silver halide. Seems to keep on going ....

Cheers,

Marli

Too funny, so did my GPO shot. I could not figure out what slot to put the slide into the computer to be able to send it in. LOL
