Scubamoose 0 Posted May 12, 2009 Hi! Last weekend I snorkeled in spring's that start one of the major rivers in our country. Unfortunally no fishes or anything else interesting to photograph, but the best visibility I have ever seen in my home neighbourhood (usually we have vis. 2 - 4 meters; 6 to 13 feet). So I took some pictures and I would greatly appreciate You'r opinion on them, as well what could be improved or added, if there isn't any bloody fishes :-D All taken with G9 in Ikelite housing and Ikelite wide angle lense. No strobe or filters used. On this shot You can see one of the springs. ISO 80; 1/30 sec at f / 5,0 This is taken behind a small dam with slow shutter speed - "Under the flow" ISO 80; 1/13 sec at f / 5,6 And the last one is shot infront of the same dam. Human made but beaver has made minor adjustments ISO 100; 1/80 sec at f 2,8 Cheers Karel Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
diverdon 1 Posted May 12, 2009 Karel, I think your second shot is made interesting by the texture of the water on the surface. The other two may accurately document what you saw but as compositions they have little artistic appeal to me. JMHO Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

tdpriest 115 Posted May 15, 2009 Is that the widest you can go? There is very little distortion in the images. Using a fisheye lens can bring in so much of the scenery that even without fish the image can be exciting, tho' fish almost always make it better. Scubamoose 0 Posted May 18, 2009 Thanks fellows! Very good adcives here! I went back this weekend and shot some over-under pictures that I'm much more satisfyed with. And Tim, I have been thinkin long about getting a fisheye, but until now I have been happy with a wideangle lens.
