Kimmeineche 0 Posted May 13, 2009 Hi Dan! Very cool to see that I'm not the only one who is messing around in the underwater stereo world! What is the stereobasis on your rig? Can we see the testshot somewere? The best greetings and good luck with your future shots... Kim! :-) Here is my new video rig I built a month ago from a shoot. The rig is 2 HD cam modular cameras.. Dan Burton 0 Posted May 13, 2009 The film is being edited now. More shoots soon.. Watch this space. The rig has two configs. A 5cm, and 7cm lens mount. 5cm from close stuff (2m to inf) 7cm for stuff (4m to inf) we are filming people and wreck, so we aren't using a mirror rig. We do have a mirror rig on the surface, for close-up of the presenter. We will be shooting 3 more shoot this summer, and will be changing the cameras, as we had big problems with overheating. SimonSpear 65 Posted May 13, 2009 Very cool! It must have been nice messing around with that rig in those crystal clear warm waters! Any info on what the film is called and what to look out for? Cheers, Simon
Kimmeineche 0 Posted May 17, 2009 Ok.... never thought that overheating could be a problem to any underwater photo/video rig! Perhaps you could get rid of the problem by building one or more of the housings sides in aluminium if it doesn't make it all too heavy? What is the brand and model of the camera actually? They doesn't look like anything I've seen before?! Hope it is not to much work for you to replace the cameras (Different pos. of the glands etc...)... I sure wish you good luck and looking forward to hear more of the results! Best greetings from Kim! :-) PS: If you still can't get rid of the problem with too much heat.... just come to the nordic waters.... specially from nov. to march! :-) We will be shooting 3 more shoot this summer, and will be changing the cameras, as we had big problems with overheating.
