UK camera retailer victim of fraud

That is about right for the UK police when tackling any kind of fraud. My sister in laws credit card had paid for a laptop that she had not authorized. Her credit card compnay contacted her to ask her if she had purchased a laptop from a certain shop to which she replied " NO "

She then contacted the shop to say that it was not an authorized transaction, but the shop informed her that it had already been shipped to an address in London. It actually hadnt beed accepted as my sister in law contacted the parcel delivery compnay to ask them and they said that it was still on the couriers van and would be delivered later that day. She then phoned the Met with the address to where it was beuing delivered and the Met said that it isnt something that they would get involved in and that she would be covered by her credit card insurance.

 

I think they are too bust setting up speed cameras to deal with real crime.

I think lazy police are the rule everywhere, it is too bad because they effectively enable this kind of theft by refusing to do their job. Suppose a surgeon refused to operate on a cancer because it was not big enough? Any gardener can tell you it is easiest to pull small weeds.

Same sort of thing happened to me. My wife's credit card somehow got cloned and a Blackberry Storm was ordered from Vodafone for delivery to a London address - I even googled it and pinpointed the exact house! We stopped the courier delivery a few hours before the phone was due to be delivered, but again the police weren't at all interested. Jeez, maybe I should get a bank to deliver me a bagful of money and assume Plod is watching Speed Camera Captures - The Lazy B****ds Strike Again, rather than nabbing me!

 

Fraud really seems to be on the rise in the UK- and thats something coming from me who lives in the credit card cloning capital of the world - Malaysia (or Thailand - they fight over the dubious title)
