Drew 0 Posted July 24, 2009 Is that the old prototype or final production model? They've been showing the Alpha prototype for a while now but due to "competition" they won't show the final product that they'll be shipping. From what I know, they are not sure they can keep the basic fixed lens model under $4k. Still 3k means it's 3072x1620, which essentially is a 4.9mp camera for stills. It's a hybrid that works the other way round from the ViDSLR... it's a video camera which shoots medium resolution stills. Still, Canon/Nikon will be slightly worried with the sports shooter category with 150fps burst. You won't miss much on Federer's forehand or Tiger's drive and it'll good enough res for a magazine. From the prototype, the lenses and body are going to require big ports with gears for focus and zoom. It's a pretty big setup and without SLR, the LCD will have to be separate in another housing connected. I'm liking the Ikonoskop (yet another very delayed camera). I will say that Red has the whole hyped up announcement then wait for the product game well worked out.
