Scotttyd 0 Posted August 13, 2009 I am debating between these two strobes? Any pro's or con's? I have a nikon p5100 in ikelite housing. I know the 240 is a stronger strobe, but will that benefit me much since my current rig is good, but far from top of the line? (not d-slr)

(not d-slr) I can only tell you that if you're like most folks you'll be upgrading down the road to a DSLR. The Z240 would make that transition nicely. Here's a nice site that will help you compare the two strobes. http://www.digitaldiver.net/strobes.php BTW..nice group of folks over on that board as well! sgietler 1 Posted August 14, 2009 like gary said, you might want a Z240 if you ever move to a dSLR. I think the d2000 is sufficient for your current rig. hope this helps!
Drew 0 Posted August 14, 2009 D2000= less power, no sync cord connection (except older D2000w/n) except fiber optic, slightly slower recycle time. If you can afford it, get the Z240, more power is never a bad thing.
