Got my 70-180 mm micro from eBay a few years ago. Mine came from a Japanese seller and I have been very please with the lens, so check out eBay.

Also, you will need to take the tripod mount off of the lens to get it into a port.

Thanks Elmer. Ebay didn't have anything the last few times I've checked, its a waiting game at this point. A kind wetpixel member pointed out a list on craigslist but it was more than I was willing to spend for it at the moment. I see some of the housing manufacturer's are still supporting ports and extensions for it, so hopefully things time out right. Thanks again for the thought and information.

They have one in the rental department that I don't think has been out

more than a half dozen times. I know because I put it there.

 

Talk to John Brainerd (the store sales manager) and ask him if he'd

sell it to you. Have a price in mind beforehand that you'd be willing

to pay. Don't mention your price until he gives you his price though.

If you can't find the 70-180 or want to try an alternative, I recommend the Tamron 70-200 macro. It's an F2.8 lens so performs very well. Closest focus is almost as good as the 70-180.

 

I did an article about it for the WP library.
