Thanks, A focus light is a light source usually attached to the camera system at the arm or the camera housings shoe that provides a constant light source to help with focusing and composition. The Ricoh camera's LCD while in the manual mode will mimic the exposure/lighting conditions, you should notice that as you make adjustments the screen will either brighten or darken as well, this issue is addressed in the manual as a normal feature of this camera. While for the underwater shooter in low light conditions that is depending on the LCD this could be a negative. Considering that a strobe(s) would be used this would have nothing to do with the final foreground exposure but could reflect how the background will be exposed/balanced. You can also change the metering from "spot" giving the camera a broader sampling area that might provide more light for the cameras calculations giving you a brighter screen. As posted a focus light will helps with this and also help the camera focus faster and more accurately while providing crisper photos -DD Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
