Dasycaris ceratops ?

Recommended Posts

Have a hard time identifying that little fellow. Any idea?

I think it could be a Dasycaris ceratops species or another Dasycaris sp.?

Shot at Seraya Secret, Bali, at around 10m. It lives in symbiosis with its sea pen.

Cheers

Daniel

Do you have any shots of it from another angle? That would help. If it is Dasycaris both ceratops & symbiotes live on Pteroides sea pens & are very similar according to Massimo Boyer's page: http://www.seadb.univpm.it/en_Sea-pen-shri...mbiotes_602.htm The distinguishing character which is the number of spines in a line on the rostrum & carapace can be clearly seen with a good side view.

Thanks for the response. I do not have a side shot, unfortunately. Oh well, I will just classify it as a Dasycaris sp. then

Thanks again
