Flash recording

Got into a discussion yesterday with someone who wanted to buy a Canon HF S-11. The log and transfer off the card I know is the same but I have no idea about the workflow or quality differences when recording to the Flash Drive. Can someone educate me here?

When downloading the footage off of the camera's internal hard drive, it is done in the same fashion as if using the card. In FCP, you do a Log and Transfer, and the camera will show up as a drive (pending you have it plugged in via USB). The clips should automatically pop up in the Log & Transfer window now. Very simple, same as if using a card, or as if shooting with the XD Cam and SxS cards.

Thanks Mike...is there any difference in either the size of the files coming off the flash drive or the quality?
