njdiver60 1 Posted January 23, 2010 Folks; I use a Nikon D90 in an Aquatica housing. I plan to upgrade my strobes and even though I shoot manually today, I would love the option of using TTL every once in a while. What are my best options for strobes that support Nikon's iTTL system, preferably without having to resort to separate external converter of some sort. I'd be grateful for any advice. dhaas 20 Posted January 23, 2010 Ikelite iTTL external converter and Ikelite DS125 / 160 /161 is your best bet. Converter comes in Nik V type housing bulkhead and Ikelite bulkhead. I've put several folks into this with Aquatica housings. SO they have TRUE iTTL and manual if they desire. dhaas
Drew 0 Posted January 25, 2010 I'm not sure of what the status of Heinrich Weikamp converters are but they work very well with Nikon iTTL, plus you have a plethora of strobe choices and not limited to one brand, should you feel the 'need' to upgrade again.
