Aquatica D300s housing

Recommended Posts

OK here it is in all its 105mm glory - I purchased the aqua viewfinder (thanks Gudge for recommending) and the remote trigger for tripod work - it really is a awesome piece of kit - and the locking system is very nifty - no more needing 4 hands as with the ikelite setup -

well took the rig for a test dive today at a familiar stomping ground -ammo jetty - vis was below par ( student divers x 20 didn't help) but found a few critters to cut my teeth on. The D300s was a huge step up from the D50 (obviously) - the housing was mindblowing simple to use - I had to stop myself taking my hands off the handles (as I had to do with the Ike housing) and use my thumb and forefinger to jet across F-stops and exposure speeds. It really had been very well thought out - I have no regrets at all - this rig is the ducks guts - the angled buttons - the tough finish and its really light ( neutral ) in the water again kudos to Peter for talking my partner into upgrading from the original idea , kudos to aquatica for the workmanship and finally here are some shots - used the 105mmVR and ittl from 2 x z240s' - hope the co lours look OK as just got a new monitor and have yet to calibrate it

Hi mate thanks re pics - Peter was saying I got the 1st or one of the 1st ones out of Aquatica - with all the changes /mind making up , think from 1st order to arrival was 3 months ( Peter can give you more info on the time frame ;-) ) - -Peter Mooney via www.scubapix.com

Hey Ya Mick - thanks for that - must have really been on the LSD when I did that 1st lot - shows how much a color calibrated monitor is worth (hopefully this set is in better shape) ;)

so...... here are a few more ..... same dive site ...... same lens ...... I've completed 6 dives to date with the Aquatica and D300s since Thursday - (no video) .... thoughts are 1) very easy to use U/W 2) aqua viewfinder is a "must have " (as Chriso stated re the Nauticam one) 3) will try the remote trigger and tripod set up on a wreck on Monday
