PRO-IP Act - Intellectual property feedback for President Obama

Recommended Posts

The Obama administration's Victoria Espinel is now accepting feedback on the costs and risks that intellectual property infringement has on the US public. Victoria Espinel is the first US Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator and her job is to "help protect the creativity of the American Public" by coordinating with all the federal agencies that fight the infringement of intellectual property, which include video games, music, and books; and infringing upon the many other creative works like photographs in the US.

Here is the link to the pdf:

and the official white house write up:

Since our photographs are our creative work, we must voice our concern at the way the internet and other publications can affect our art form with unauthorized use. So please send your thoughts on the matter to:

Victoria Espinel: intellectualproperty@omb.eop.gov

In your email, you should include your background (name, location and profession), how image theft affects you and what should be done to protect our rights as photographers, especially on the internet.

The deadline is March 24th 2010 at 1700hrs EST. Make sure our voices are heard!
