debersole 3 Posted April 28, 2010 There are not a lot of cave diving photos posted here so I thought I'd post one with a little different perspective. Here is a photo from Eagle's Nest, a cave in Florida that is close to 300 feet deep. One of the interesting aspects of the cave is the entrance into the system. You enter the pond and swim over to a chimney at the bottom of the pond (approx 30 ffw). This chimney drops down to about 70 ffw where you enter a massive ballroom. At the bottom of the ballroom is the debris mound at about 130 feet where the cave system begins with both an upstream and downstream tunnel with each tunnel going about 1/2 mile and down to depths of around 300 ffw. Here is a shot of my buddy hanging on the deco line in the ballroom. Way above him you can see the green light of the chimney and the small white dot of the sun. While the image isn't one of my best, I just liked the perspective it gives. What do you think? Here's another image from just below the chimney as we about to head up. A few other images are here: http://debersole.com/layout/0001/gallery_view.cfm?g=

debersole 3 Posted April 29, 2010 The first shot was about 40 feet above the debris mound.
kevindcornwell 0 Posted April 30, 2010 The second shot just made me stop in my tracks - we're all such pipsqueaks compared to what we explore. Fragile comes to mind. Yet so adventuresome and willing to risk for knowledge and even curiosity. That's what went through my mind as I viewed that shot - If a good shot is defined by the emotion it creates, the second shot is exemplary. Well done. Elainew 1 Posted April 30, 2010 These are really atmospheric. I get claustrophobic just looking at the first one!
