Matti 4 Posted May 4, 2010 Hi There, I thought that I would post a few pics from my first trip to South West Rocks (located ~450 klm south of Brisbane) and their premier dive site , Fish Rock Cave for the Mayday long weekend. It definitely lived up to its reputation as the weather was perfect vis Sat-Sun @ 20-30m, Mon 15-20m water temp 24C, winds at 5 knts []. Heaps of Grey Nurse Sharks (Ragged Tooth or Sand Tigers) male and females with quite a young population overall. There was also heaps of other fish, Yellowtail Kings, Jewfish etc. At one stage I could count at least twenty sharks calmly swimming through the trenches. I will have to make it back there again. pmooney 6 Posted May 4, 2010 Hey Matti, Great set of images, there is no doubt the southern dive sites are very productive when the weather gods are on your side. Hope to see you at Byron for the Festival. Peter
Matti 4 Posted May 4, 2010 Hi Peter, Thanks for the comments, I was definitely lucky with the weather and the conditions, I have to see about Byron as I have quit my current job and the week for the festival is my last official week and the following week I start my new job. So I will see what I can get sorted out it might be that I get there on the Saturday and leave on Monday-Tuesday and back again on Saturday. Matti
