MATT S 8 Posted May 8, 2010 hey all just curious if it is a going to be ok to use a nuaticam housing in some small surf. I know that their are dedicated surf housings but i think the nauticam could handle some small surf, but I could be wrong. I would really like to try out some surf photography. pmooney 6 Posted May 8, 2010 Matt, I can't see any problems with taking it in the surf. You would be best to take the 180 viewfinder off if your using it and use the smallest dome. It's best to avoid any snags etc in case you go over the falls. Have fun. Peter

Surf photography does magnify the danger of sand being stuffed in o-ring groves and slowly(or actually faster) wearing away at the o-ring. You ready to replace all your o-rings on your new housing sooner? There is a reason why surf housings are minimalistic in design . Cheers, Bo
