Newmediasoup2 0 Posted May 20, 2010 Check out Ocean Frontiers on the East End. We stayed there in 2009. Very nice condo accommodations, excellent dive staff and East End diving (no other boats). They can also do northern dive sites like Babylon and Stingray City. The only down-side for me was that I would have liked just a few more services in the general East End area. Have fun planning your trip! Jen
diver dave1 23 Posted May 20, 2010 I used Ocean Frontiers a few yrs ago. They gave the best service of any dive organization I ever had in the past 20 yrs. Did find myself driving across the island often for dining to visit further west locations. Never tried the other dive centers on the island.
Giles 1 Posted May 20, 2010 Depends on what you want from the vacation and who is going with you .. is it just diving .. or is it play time too .. there are many choices and you dont have to just do one of them! Give us more details so we can answer your questions better.
ornate_wrasse 0 Posted May 20, 2010 I agree with Giles. It would make recommending where to stay and which dive op to use a lot easier if we knew more about what you're looking for. That being said, I'll add another positive recommendation for Ocean Frontiers. I stayed there in January and was very pleased with the staff, the diving operation and even the condominium I stayed in. Ellen
BotSO 0 Posted May 20, 2010 If you want to focus on diving and don't mind driving for non diving activities, I cannot recommend Ocean Frontiers highly enough. The diving is excellent and the staff is second to none. I first stayed at Ocean Frontiers for Digital Madness several years ago (led by the amazing. Dr. Mustard). I've been back several times for classes led by Dr. Mustard and on my own with my wife. In fact, I'm planning to go back this June. OF is on the East End and most of the non diving sites/attractions on Grand Cayman are on the West End about an hour's drive away.
TimG 62 Posted May 20, 2010 I've stayed at Sunset House 3 times in the last 10 years. Good dive boats, good house reef, 10 minute walk into Georgetown, Cathy Church's photo operation on site if you are looking for u/w photo equipment, advice, lessons. Worth checking out.
