Did you have to weight the dome to get it level? Is that what the metal bracket is for? It must generate alot of force on the port mount, don't think an ike housing would manage something of that size...

Lovely shot!

Lovely shot!

It be easy to minimize the stress on the port by a port support bracket that attaches to the bottom of the housing (or handle bar) and takes the weight of the port. The weight of the (stainless) bracket would also assist in buoyancy and dome positioning in the water. This could work on an Ike easily. Let me find such a dome and DIY one for my Ike. I would worry about a sun shade / dome protector though... :)

I forgot to praise the shot....it is always the results that count. As said earlier: Wow!

Just for fun, a quick google search on "large dome" found this link

Is the dome your old trifle bowl Alex. :)

Good luck with trying to get the image you are after.

Very nice concept Alex! I have to ask - is the apparent tilt of the shoreline a fisheye effect (left side closer than right side)?

Do you have any shots of the basking shark with its dorsal protruding out of the water? Or, with a view through open gill slits?

Very cool!! :notworthy: , a species that has been found in our waters as well, but rarely seen.
