RWBrooks 26 Posted July 4, 2010 Some R&R coming up and some cheap flights to boot so planning on taking a course or two. Would like to do TDI Adv Nitrox and Deco Procedures somewhere in PI. Be good to hear your views on what's good out there. Cheers Richard

dsbierman 0 Posted July 5, 2010 Asia Divers in Puerto Galera has tech courses http://www.asiadivers.com/ Stu A second vote for Asia Divers in PG. Dave & Sam do the tech stuff down the beach at Tech Asia.
SimonSpear 65 Posted July 7, 2010 I'd chime in with Asia Divers too. I personally didn't like them for 'fun' diving due to their 'you must stay in the group truck and train' approach which wasn't very good for imaging, but they are a professional set up and are apparently well regarded for Tech Training. Cheers, Simon
RWBrooks 26 Posted July 8, 2010 Thanks for the advice everyone. Anyone been anywhere else for tech? Richard
paquito 1 Posted July 8, 2010 Hi Richard, I dove with this English chap, Matt Reed who I think you should look up. First met him when he used to be the DM aboard the Odyssey in Truk, then moved on to the Atlantis Hotel in Puerto Galera (as their dive manager) with a concentration on tech. He has his own company, Triton Technical http://www.tech.triton-oceanic.com/ I've only had really great experiences with Matt. Have a great time! paquito
paquito 1 Posted July 9, 2010 Richard, Matt can still be reached via triton tech, and also through http://www.evolution.ph/ We emailed yesterday to say hi and catch up. Good luck and great diving!
deepsea 0 Posted July 9, 2010 I would second Matt Reed, he has a great set up and is very experienced. Hope you have fun and say hi to him from me. Karen
MikeVeitch 0 Posted July 10, 2010 Yes, Matt now has his own shop in Malapascua called Evolution Diving. You can tell him about how much Palau has changed since he left there... actually, i guess it hasn't really
RWBrooks 26 Posted July 11, 2010 Mike, Oh but it has! Just last week Bem Ermiis, the world famous burger van outside the library moved to the Asahi baseball stadium. Now it doesn't get much more "current affairs" than that! It's just one long sensory overload here Mike! Richard

RWBrooks 26 Posted July 11, 2010 I have to admit I'm leaning towards Malapascua, nice place. The thought of dropping over the edge of Monad into that abyss got me going last time........
