Blue Heron Bridge - 17-18 July 2010

Recommended Posts

On Sunday evening, this year's Wetpixel/JASA Sharks and Dolphins trip heads out from Wet Palm Beach for adventures in the Bahamas.

Most of the group will be arriving into West Palm Beach on Friday or Saturday and we are hoping to keep up the tradition of hitting the Blue Heron Bridge site for some muck-tacular macro dives.

Just thought I'd check in for some local knowledge on dive times for the weekend, critters that are about and to hear if anyone is in the area and fancies joining me for a dive. When I say joining - I kind of mean getting in at the same time and chatting about critters afterwards! Or even if we only meet underwater - give me a wave and I will usually pop up to the surface for a chat!

Also, I thought I'd best check that the site is open - as it does sometimes get closed for diving from time to time.

If you are in the area and fancy joining us - post below/PM me/email me.

Any tips on what to look out for - gratefully received. Last time I dived it in July before a Wetpixel/JASA trip (in 2008) I saw mating long arm octopus and mating seahorses on the same dive, plus all the usual regulars.

Hi Alex,

Tides for 17 hi 13:48, 18 hi 14:49, Stewart Westmorland will be getting off the last trip the morning you arrive and we should be at the bridge for both days or at least Sunday.

You can send me a PM if you want additional info. on what we have been finding this month. Will also be testing the new Athena ring Flash if you are interested to see it.

We arrived yesterday, dived the Bridge today. Water was a very warm 85 degrees. The most interesting find of the day was a Horseshoe Crab!

We'll be there again tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then or Sunday.

LOL....in Riviera Beach a Chinese is some type of exotic / erotic massage I think. :P

Might work, particularly if Tim's stuck in Room 257 at the Super 8

He might have preferred that! Apologies for the vocab mix-up. I meant chinese meal, which was v. tasty, something lost in trans-Atlantic translation.

Although since arriving here, I have been told countless times already that my accent is cute!

Jeff, have a great time in South Africa - are you there already?

Yes, always an advantage to have that 'cute' accent. Brings back that old Adam Ant song ' You think you like the accent, you think it's so polite......I think you gonna like it more....when we're alone tonight! ' :D

No Alex, not in SA yet. Packing today, we leave Friday. :P
