It looks like things are heating up and at a very timely juncture. Any folks with relationships in the Bahamas who may care about this issue, should call in support for the sanctuary. We are really at a cross-roads in the Bahamas. Either we face a race to fin all the sharks or a future where sharks have a haven in the sanctuary. Latest news here:

From what I read on the article, Sunco MAY go into shark finning. The fact is they have not and if they had any business sense, they'd do it quietly instead of announcing it publicly. It is, however, time the Bahamas put in the laws to protect the sharks, especially now with discussions of maritime boundaries with Cuba have begun. Interesting I haven't heard anything from the Bahamas Dive Association, which was very vocal during Marcus Groh incident. I would think that they'd take a huge interest in preventing something like this from happening.

It's a fight between 2 multi-million industries, one sustainable indefinitely and one that'll disappear within a few years.
