gavinparsons 1 Posted January 19, 2011 Hi Guys I'm looking to buy a bullet video camera (or a small camera) that I can attach to a pole along with a monitor so I can film life in a local river. It doesn't have to be broadcast quality or anything, but something on a par with a GoPro would be nice. The GoPro seems a good idea, but I don't think you can plug in an external monitor can you? Any ideas would be welcomed. Thanks gavin
jonny shaw 16 Posted January 19, 2011 Go Pro's work well but you are correct that there is no external monitor options. Gates and Amphibico do pole cams but completely different price league. For the money Go Pro's are excellent,

The only thing that proved a prob was the cable to the monitor was only 3M and fixed. I hear Panny do a similar cam with a longer cable and Gates have a housing for it. Hamish Morrison 0 Posted January 20, 2011 I'm sure that you can use an external monitor with the new GoPro's. Check out their FAQs: "Can I get a live video output from the camera? Yes, provided that your HD HERO camera is loaded with the latest firmware update". Not personally tried it but I have one & it has a socket that says TV.
