mo2vation 5 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Some recent T-Fish remote stuff with my F/O Snoots We were on a trip to Catalina last weekend. Grabbed these shots. Snooted up Hudsons, running over the sticks - 2-arm fiber optic snoot, remote T-fish We found a lacy bryzoan skin on the sand. I put it on a large Elkhorn Kelp leaf and snooted away. Lacy - Shot #1 - Snoot from top down only Lacy #2 - Bottom lit only through the kelp. No top light Lacy #3 - lit as above, from the bottom - but with the other arm of the snoot aiming at the top as fill light. WOW!! Inside-the-box - this eel was deep in a box on the corner of the swim platform. I snooted up Moray and friends - shooting the light under the rim of the box with the snoot Snooted up cleaner shrimp as he pokes out to see what all the hubbub is about. Turned the snoot 90-degrees, and grabbed this guy as he walked out Urchin Test - lit from inside, also lit from top with the second arm of the Snoot as fill light Urchin test - lit ONLY from the inside. The top arm of the snoot bent out of frame. I love this shot! Shot this octo with my "super soaker' snoot - a very, very long snoot with hundreds of fibers in it. I built it especially for this trip - to light up GPO's deep in their holes! SUPER SOAKER Edited November 23, 2011 by mo2vation
mo2vation 5 Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) Snooty Goodness - the three together Snoot #001 is the 1/4" dual output Snoot #002 ("phatty snoot") is the 1/2" dual output, and is my go-to for most macro these days Snoot #003 ("Supersoaker") is a very long, 3/4 single output (about 400+ fibers) monster used to illuminate larger critters in tough spots (think Giant Pacific Octos in their dens, Moray Eels, Wolf Eels, etc.) or for bending light into fun and interesting new places. Wanted to be sure I posted shots of these together. Always fired remotely via Hedwig's amazing TriggerFish. -Ken Original 1/4" Fiber Optic Snoot Follow up 1/2" Phatty Snoot The 3/4" Super Soaker All three, side by side All three, standing. Nectar of the gods inserted next to Snootus Pachydermus for reference. This is the business end of the snoots. Illuminated with simple flashlights. You can see how the fibers fill the ends of the Original Snoot and the Phatty Snoot - while there is still a ton of space in the Super Soaker. I took it to Seattle and Vancuver like this - worked great. I still need to fill with another 150 or so Fibers. Edited November 30, 2011 by mo2vation

gobiodon 62 Posted May 25, 2012 Hi Ken! Really nice fiber optic solution. I don't want to hijack this thread, but I have many questions not related to the remote slave trigger but your strobe adapter. Maybe you should start a new thread in the DIY section. Cheers Marcell
