Hi all!

So I have been contacted from the other side of the world, with an interest of buying one or two of my images. The person is interested of getting prints, but the transportation cost will be huge if I print them out myself and send them. So it would me much smarter to provide the buyer with a hiqh quality jpeg so he/she could print it out himself / herself. But now the question is how can I be sure that my images will be not used otherwise (web pages, published somewhere etc etc.) - used outside our agreement?

Anyone had similar questions poped up?

And if You have selled a file of Your image, for what ever purpose, have You made a written agreement about the use of the image?

Cheers

Karel

Hi Karel,

Congrats on the sale :)

The best solution would be to make contact with a professional lab that is close to your client.

You can FTP the file to them for output to the required media.

Arrange for the finished prints to be delivered or be collected as it best suits.

In one word - Yes. Best practice requires an image delivery note every time, even if its a (rare) FOC use. Exact terms, from duration, media, territory are all clear and concise.
