girelle 19 Posted March 19, 2011 Hello Here are some pics taken with either a Canon S 90 either a Nikon D 90. I live close to the mediterranean sea and I have the possibilitie to do often the same dives . It appears that I had pics from the same animals or same wrecks taken with both cameras . In the comparison the first picture is the one taken with the Canon and the second with the Nikon . Light is two Inon S 2000 for the Canon , and two Nikonos Sb 105 for the Nikon . The wrecks are 40 to 50 meters deep . I would be glad to get some comments Dominique http://www.flickr.com/photos/7189548@N05/s...57625638236968/ slide show is here http://www.flickr.com/photos/7189548@N05/s...638236968/show/
derway 2 Posted March 19, 2011 Thank you very much Dominique. Well done! The difference is the strobes is one of the biggest things that catches my eye. Were you shooting both cameras at the lowest ISO? Did you shoot RAW? Looks like the white balance is not nearly so good, on the s90.. In a few of the macro/fish shots, I really like the s90 better. Most of the others, the d90 has a big advantage.
Stephen H. 0 Posted March 19, 2011 Seeing that comparison was great! I think that first shot, D90 version, is spectacular. The quality difference is visible - thanks a lot for posting. Steve
girelle 19 Posted March 20, 2011 My purpose is only to show that you can get decent pictures with a compact , of course not that the compact make better pictures that the Dslr ..fortunately the quality difference is visible . I was at 100 iso with the S90 and 200 iso ( the lowest ) with the Dslr. Thank for your comments
nortoda1 13 Posted March 21, 2011 Hi Girelle, what are the wrecks? The sub is the Rubis right? What is the other one. I've just emigrated from Ireland to Switzerland, so I reckon I'll be hitting the South of France and Italy on a regular basis. Darragh
girelle 19 Posted March 21, 2011 (edited) The sub is the Ruby , the wheel belongs to the the Prosper Shiaffino or Donator , the other pictures have been taken on the Sagona also call " le grec " . I think the most beautiful is the Donator . Edited March 21, 2011 by girelle
