Paula Schi 0 Posted August 19, 2011 (edited) As I haven't written that many posts here on the board I do want to let my fellow readers in on this. When I saw this news contribution on CNN I was in complete shock and really sad what things are done in the name of "education". :-( A summer camp called "Coastal discoveries" in Newbury, MA claims to be a marine education camp... http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2011/0....whdh?hpt=hp_t2 and this one... http://www.digtriad.com/news/watercooler/a...chusetts-Record Guess killing sharks is the best way to show kids their mission "to share our love of our ocean environment and to teach respect for its fragility." -Lee and Bob Yeomans I am thinking of writing them a mail but I guess it won't help anyways. I mean- hey- "its just a shark". Shame on these guys... :-( Edited August 19, 2011 by Paula Schi
Drew 0 Posted August 19, 2011 Paula The "camp" is run by a fishing operator... so no surprise they teach fishing as part of the curriculum. This is the company's mission statement: http://www.coastaldiscoveries.com/mission.html It does seem hypocritical.
