dive_unchin@hotmail.com 0 Posted November 1, 2011 Hi, new users, new photographer/videographer to underwater. I'm interested in what I should get as a lightweight light option to both video and shot stills. I want something that I can takle on a trip that if it is 25% diving and then other land stuff I don;t get jacked-off at carring about, but still have them provide enough light to get good video/photos. Looking at the options I've kinda narrowed down to the Light Motion 1200 - but not locked in. Any ideas on what I should purchase for good light for stills and for video? Steve Douglas 16 Posted November 11, 2011 You might want to check in with Tim at Nocturnal Lights. They have several models of good quality lights that are not too expensiive. Steve

hellhole 24 Posted November 14, 2011 (edited) i seen a set up with AD-GO from ultralight (http://www.filmtools.com/ultralight-gopro-tripod-mount-w-ball.html) then get a clamp to link any other light and the AD GO together. stability might be a issue though.. but its super light i guess. as for the light.. i think the sola so far are the ones that i see that is really good for video.. esp at night... for day time.. a filter is a must.. also can check out here to see another set up that i saw....http://www.ulcs.com/news.html Edited November 14, 2011 by hellhole
adamhanlon 0 Posted November 15, 2011 GoPro was huge at DEMA this year! There are a number of really interesting designs for using the cams underwater. I've attached a couple of images of some of them from the show- The first is a tray design from ULCS, that will accept whatever light you chose. The second is a light by Watershot, in which the battery pack doubles as the handgrip. I have mounted my GoPro onto my camera housing- to get POV footage while I am shooting stills. All the best Adam
TomR1 5 Posted November 22, 2011 Underwater lights tend to overheat if used in air very much. I happen to like a light with a built-in rechargable battry like SOLA and I alos like a red option, also like SOLA. Tom
