AlexDawson 2 Posted December 19, 2011 Dear wetpixel members, I have recently updated my website. There is a flash version and a HTML version for devices that don't support flash like iPad/iPhone etc... Please have a look and tell what you think. Good or bad doesn't matter. I am happy for now but might consider an update if someone has a great idea they want to share? The only gallery that is not ready yet is the commercial one, it will be completed by the end of January. As you will see, wreck photography is my favorite kind. Enjoy! The flash version does not work very good on IE9 unless it is updated to the latest version and the cash is cleared. http://www.dawson-photo.com Merry christmas! // Alex
Steve Williams 0 Posted December 20, 2011 Hi Alex< I enjoyed looking at your images. There are some really nice images there. Just a couple of thoughts; I expect to see an "about" page when I see a website like yours, it's nice to find out more about the photographer. One quirk that I noticed, when you mouse over the page headings I expect the heading to change font or format and they don't seem too on your site, just a nit. The images don't change as I expected them too based on where I was clicking, just took some getting used to. I really like the full screen option. Cheers, Steve

johnjvv 11 Posted December 20, 2011 The previous was with Google Chrome, this one is with IE...overlap seems a bit larger with IE... Cheers...
AlexDawson 2 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Thank you guys! Steve, I will look in to your suggestions. I might ad an about page later, I have to think about that one. John, What resolution do you run on your computer. I assume that you use a pc? I think the page requires a minimum of 1100 pixels in width. and do you have the latest update for IE9 and emptied the cache? // Alex Edited December 20, 2011 by AlexDawson

My work computer is better than the one I am using now so I am sure the pixel width was fine...I will check again in the morning... Anyhow at home enjoying a nice glass of box wine now and this is the result... Cheers buddy...

bobanderson 3 Posted December 20, 2011 your wreck images really raise the bar: they are fantastic. My criticism would be that I like a bit more info on the photo, be that a bit more on the wreck etc. Photos are aften footsteps in the snow and it is nice to follow sometimes.. Thank you Bob
AlexDawson 2 Posted December 21, 2011 your wreck images really raise the bar: they are fantastic. /quote] Thank you Bob! Yes wreck photography is really what I love and the only kind of underwater photography I do since 5 years back, I live in one of the best parts of the world for shipwrecks. In 2011 three royal 16th & 17th country wrecks has been found in the Baltic sea at depths between 65-100 meters with bronze canons and other treasures. Very important and interesting for our scandinavian maritime history. About your suggestion, I would like to share more info on the wrecks but for me it is more important with a clean page. If there is any particular image you want more info on I will be more than happy to tell you what I know about the wreck and its story. kind regards // Alex
bobanderson 3 Posted December 21, 2011 I agree about the clean page, you achieve that very well. I guess mine was just a general comment really that all good photos have a good caption, to my mind both a title and a little content. Maybe I am alone in wanting to have a bit more context: I certainly couldn't help if you asked me how you balance the need for a clean page and more info! It is certainly exciting times in the Baltic with old wooden wrecks: you are very lucky. I was watching video footage from one the other day. Anyway, keep up the good work Bob
