NTUC Fairprice, Singapore's largest supermarket chain, has publicly promised to remove shark fin products from its shelves by the first quarter of 2012. It is meaningful as many (possibly the majority of) Singaporeans shop at NTUC. Beyond making shark fin unavailable for shoppers, it sends an important message to the public. Drew 0 Posted January 10, 2012 Well it didn't take too much to convince them since they weren't selling all that well to hurt the bottom line at all. A few phone calls to the right persons and it was decided within a month. But it's a great PR victory and that's what counts!
