Back from 4 insane days in Isla Mujeres with Mauricio Handler. Totally lucked out on the weather, the week before was a mess. Swam our butts off....

A few more that tell the story, first one's almost a caricature of the chaos

ErolE, generally I'd say a high shutter speed is the most important thing. I shot 1/320 - 1/500, ISO 400-1200. Used a single strobe just for close up fill at it's lowest setting. Lens underwater is Nikon 16-35 behind a 9" Zen dome.

Really fantastic! Hard to not really enjoy the 4th image. The first is very nice as well.

Were you ever worried about getting stabbed?

I'm sure it's possible but with their speed and agility, they seemed to be pretty much in control of their bills at all times..

Amazing shots, Jeff!

We were on the Lilly before you guys get on the boat.

I think you also stayed at Playa Media Luna!? A shame that i didn´t really recognize it at the time we were at the hotel... :-(

We had 4 days with nothing but waves and wind. One day was so, so, with just a little bit of action.

The last day was a bit better. Some good action but still bad visibility.

Cheers

Markus

Jeff-

Great work!

THanks again for joining me on this fine adventure.

Nature can be cruel to us underwater shooters but I have,

for the most part always had extraordinary fortune and timing.

Loved sharing such a trip with you!

See you again on the water soon.

mauricio-
