htunriallu 0 Posted April 29, 2012 Hi All, I would need some advice as how to fool the E-PL3 flash system. My old system is G11 + Canon UW casing + 2 Inon stobe Just bought E-PL3 + Olympus PT05 casing. I realized that the internal strobe sync can only accomodate the speed up to 1/160. I have been used to take picture at 1/250, 1/500 with my G11. How to increase the speed to 1/500 for example with E-PL3. Looking foward to have some help from experienced E-PL3 users. I don't know if you're still trying to speed this up, but unfortunately the max sync speed is typically set by the minimum exposure time that allows the shutters to be fully open. Any faster and a flash firing will light only a slit of the image. I do see a Super FP mode in the specs, however, which can go faster but requires a compatible flash (that stays lit an unusually long time). You may have some luck going down that path but I sincerely doubt you're going to be able to improve on the x-sync speed of the camera. By the way, how are you liking the E-PL3? I believe if you buy the Olympus underwater strobes you can increase your sync speed...I would email tropical1 here on the forum.
