Scubysnaps 9 Posted June 15, 2012 What do you think? Represents the dive flag Represents the 3 primary colours in photography Represents the 3 main colours lost underwater in order of depth Surely its a no brainer
decosnapper 34 Posted June 15, 2012 Represents the dive flag Represents the kind of dive flag only used in the US of A perhaps?....The rest of the world tends to refer to the International Code of Signals for diving operations and that is an Alpha flag, indicating 'I have a diver down'. blaisedouros 4 Posted June 15, 2012 Add some 35mm film perforations around the borders of whatever dive flag you prefer, then maybe you've got something.
Scubysnaps 9 Posted June 16, 2012 (edited) Add some 35mm film perforations around the borders of whatever dive flag you prefer, then maybe you've got something. Nah...its a flag, needs to be simple, plus film is a thing of the past! Edited June 16, 2012 by Scubysnaps
gee13 4 Posted June 16, 2012 What do you need the flag for...??
Scubysnaps 9 Posted June 16, 2012 Why does anyone need a flag for? For initial representation without the use of words, I don't personally, it just came to me! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag It doesn't have to be used just as a flag, it could be used as an international symbol for our hobby, so if it is seen in a shop window for example, one would know if they have found the right shop or not! Or even at a dive show perhaps
rtrski 20 Posted June 21, 2012 The international symbol for our hobby should be large stacks of money being flushed down a saltwater marine head.
blaisedouros 4 Posted June 21, 2012 Nah...its a flag, needs to be simple, plus film is a thing of the past! It's the representation that everyone recognizes; of course almost no one is shooting film anymore, but then, my cell phone uses a picture of an old handset to represent making a call. Not because anyone actually uses that kind of handset anymore, just because it's the most recognizable symbol. And ironically, pixels are tough to represent graphically Although the flushing image is awfully tempting...
