cavewoman1 0 Posted August 31, 2012 Hi there! Over the past year I've been working on building a portfolio up. Most of my work has been done while cave diving in central Florida. I've had some work published in a cave diving specific magazine, and I'd like to continue that trend and try to get more work published in diving magazines that reach a broader spectrum. Please give me some feedback on how I can improve my work further. I am looking at a camera upgrade in the future, but for now I am using what I have/can afford. cavewoman1 0 Posted September 4, 2012 So sorry, new to this forum, and now I see that I'm only supposed to post one photo at a time. If you could, give me some feedback on the first shot. Shot in Ginnie Springs (Devils cave system). I used a sigma 20mm at I believe f5.6 at 1/80th. With a DS125 and DS51 onboard, and a slaved DS125 which my model is holding to illuminate behind himself. njcfm 0 Posted November 19, 2012 the first shot is good, but using a light modifier (diffuser) should result in less of a hot spot from the flash and more dispersed light. errbrr 73 Posted November 20, 2012 Hi, nice photos in a tricky environment. Good job on the off camera lighting, I would suggest taking the classic underwater rule underground too - shoot up. Even if there's only a roof instead of a surface, it's a good angle. You have a lot more lighting control in caves, so experiment lots. Silhouettes look good, and backlighting and reflective ceiling bubbles can be lots of fun. It looks like you have a patient buddy there...get him wearing as much colour as possible to help you out. You have done well one thing about your buddy.. and i know cave divers like black, but.. a single frame clear mask would be a lot better for the close up shots, that way you won't get the shadows on his face Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
