kieran 0 Posted November 1, 2012 Hey folks, I am starting to research what strobe to purchase for my fix housing and canon s100. I would like to keep my rig as compact as possible. I am liking the look of the Inon S2000. I do not have any wet lens at the moment but do intend to purchase in the future. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks Kieran
Alex_Tattersall 90 Posted November 1, 2012 S2000 is a good choice if you are more of a macro shooter although if you ever dive in gloves, you’ll find the buttons very difficult to use. INON Z240 is the better choice in this case.
ChrigelKarrer 52 Posted November 1, 2012 Yes, the s2000 and the tiny fix S100 Housing make a very small but useful rig but more suited for warm waters due it's tiny size difficult to operate with thick gloves. At least the D2000 and the Canon G11/G12 work perfectly together and the S100 is electronically identical with the G12. Chris
Mario V 1 Posted November 2, 2012 Both the S2000 and the Z240 are excellent units. You can also have a look at the Sea and Sea YSD1. Probably one of the most powerful strobes in that range, compact and very nicely built
bvanant 190 Posted November 2, 2012 I have both the S2000 and the YS01 (and most of the others too). For warm water the S2000 is the nicest option or if you are only shooting TTL then it is great here in California with drysuit and drygloves too. The YS01 is also nice, bigger buttons/knobs and works fine with the housing. Bill
