OM-D Firmware Update 14 Dec?

Recommended Posts

From 4/3rumors.com:

I got a short message from an anonymous sources saying “December 14th“. This should be the date Olympus may release the new OMD E-M5 firmware update. May some other source can confirm this?

We have been told that the firmware should add several more options to the menu regarding EVF info and “one exciting feature that is sure to please users. icon_wink.gif “. My guess as you know is that Olympus will add peaking mode. Let’s see if I am right!

I'm hoping they add the (smaller) autofocus point size adjustment that is apparently in the E-PL5. While one can achieve a small autofocus point by assigning a button to Magnify, it does mean an extra button press (and also disables live highlight&shadow or histogram viewing while active). Focus peaking, not for me, unless Olympus comes up with a better implementation:

And what about the ability to limit the focus range via the camera's menus (rather than a switch located on the lens itself, ref. the 60mm). I'd love that!
