blibecap 29 Posted January 25, 2013 I have reached the point that I need / want to sell some underwater photo gear and I am wondering what is the best option. I have sold on ebay and was wondering what others think is the best way to seel this gear. I can, 1: advertise it here, 2: advertise it on ebay, 3: advertise it here and list it on ebay. I am interested in the thoughts of others that have sold used specialized photo gear. -- Bill Libecap

I once sold a rig on ebay only to find out it was a member of my u/w photo club. Bob Edited January 26, 2013 by Deep6
eric black 1 Posted January 26, 2013 Id start here and see if you can avoid the ebay fees on the sale- I will note that it seems most members here already come with an array of gear and I havent had much luck selling systems, only components. Patience on either selling forum is required in most cases- its taken me up to 3-4 months to get a serious buyer on non- small parts like sales (i.e. housings or lenses). focker 15 Posted January 26, 2013 I suggest here and the Scubaboard.com site since there is a huge amount of members there.

Cerianthus 55 Posted January 26, 2013 as a new member you need to introduce yourself (perhaps in the " new member introduction thread"), but since you now replied to a topic, you may find that you are able to start a new topic now.
Kenr 2 Posted January 28, 2013 Fred Miranda forum is one of the biggest. I think I get more enquiries there then on ebay. There is a small for you need to pay in order to post in their classifieds

water buffalo 13 Posted January 30, 2013 I sold a flash unit on eBay in October. While I did get a good buck for it, after paying about 12% in fees (9% to eBay and 3% to PayPal) the extra eyeballs and bidders didn't really net much to me. With that said, the flash was gone in 7 days and I had my money to squander elsewhere. They did, however, freeze the funds for almost a week. I guess some sellers take the money and don't send anything to the buyer. eBay worked for me in this case because I started the bidding low and took my chances.
