Storker 11 Posted January 29, 2013 In my topside photography, I strongly prefer available light or balanced flash over flash only, and I'm thinking of using colored filters - maybe combined with a complementary filter on the strobe - to dampen the green and blue channels and get enough signal in the red channel to have anything to salvage during post-processing. So, I'm seriously considering buying some Rosco gel filters, either the Rosco Color Correction Kit with warming, cooling, magenta and green or the Rosco Calcolor Kit with good, old-fashioned CC filters in the primary and secondary colors. I've located a couple rather old articles here on Wetpixel about color filters (http://wetpixel.com/...ht-photography/ from 2003 and http://wetpixel.com/...er-photography/ from 2007), but I'd really like to know about the current status on using color gels and if there are any other resources I should read up on. glee719 6 Posted May 2, 2013 This is a topic I am interested in seeing some practical applications too. I would love to be diving in crystal waters all the time too, but it's not happening where I am at. My thought is to put an FL-D filter on the lens, and then gel the strobe or video light with some shade of green. Does anyone know what shade of green I need? (Or tell me I am completely wrong and why.)Thanks!
