I might be interested.

 

Sea and Sea manufacture a housing for Canon EOS-1D MarkIII and Canon EOS-1Ds MarkIII. How do you know that your housing would work with a IV? Have you yourself got a Mark IV? Do you get access to the video start button (FEL)?

Could you please include pictures? Could you include a picture with a Mark IV inside the housing, but with the back open. I am especially interested can you fit a HDMI cable to connect the camera to an external HD monitor.

I can confirm that a 1d mark iv will fit into a sea and sea housing made for the 1d mark iii. there's no access to the fel button thou

Hi r4e,

 

It definitely fits either camera. You can't access the FEL button, so you need to press it before getting in the water. I'm not sure about the cable (I only shoot stills), so I don't want to tell you the wrong infomation about whether you can connect it to the external monitor.

 

Do you still want pictures?

 

I also have two bodies (both 1DMark IVs) and the 100mm port that I'm considering selling. Let me know if you'd be interested in any of that and I'll send you prices.

You can't access the FEL button, so you need to press it before getting in the water.

 

I shoot only video u/w. Pressing the FEL button to begin shooting video before placing the camera into the housing is not practical. Whilst recording a video clip on the Mark IV, you cannot anymore adjust WB, ISO, +/- etc. And even if I would be able to guestimate these beforehand, I would be limited by the 30 minute single clip length. Compare this to my dive lengths between 60 and 120 minutes.

 

Sorry, but not practical.
