Jo Horrocks 5 Posted April 11, 2013 Hi Wetpixellers, I've created a 3 minute film to enter in the Sea 2013 competition, trouble is it's 2.5GB and the upload has failed.....no surprise there because of the size!! I've bought Compressor but have never used it before and don't have clue what I need to compress it to, to keep a decent quality for the competition. ProRes, HDV, interlaced / progressive I would use Codec: h264 dimensions: 1920x1080 (if it needs to be smaller go 1280x720) Quality 90% Keep frame rate the same Pixel aspect will depend on what you are starting with but usually square Make sure yuo export audio as well Is it interlaced or progressive? If its interlaced, I would output progressive and use 'better' frame blending as best will take an eternity I good place to look at is vimeo as they have settings from compressor there. Drew 0 Posted April 12, 2013 3 mins @ 800MB/min? What codec are you using? I find the Apple TV settings is fine for viewing for most people. So I'd start from there. As Jon says, Compressor is sllooowwww. A good alternative is handbrake, which is free and is 64bit. Compressor 4 isn't and that's one of the reasons why it's slower. Handbrake does a great job fast! Jo Horrocks 5 Posted April 13, 2013 Hi Jon and Drew, It was Pro Res 422, 1920 x 1080 interlaced. I deinterlaced it in Compressor which helped and ended up using the 1080p option in Compressor and it brought it down to under 500mb. Thanks for the tips re handbrake, Apple TV and checking out the Vimeo Compressor rates, I'll take a look and have a play around to see what works best.
